My brother used to have this poster on his wall with the self-titled album’s cover. Back when it came out I was like 7-8 and he got the poster I always found the image very striking. The almost intestinal piping of the skull, the blotched colors and the name “Cage the Elephant” but then I didn’t listen to the album for like 10-11 years.

When I heard about Social Cues, I kind of skipped it, figuring it would just be more of the same. I listened to the album front-to-back this morning, and holy cow, it is incredible! Broken Boy, Social Cues, Black Madonna, House of Glass and Tokyo Smoke were definite standouts. I think this may be my second favorite CTE album now, behind Melophobia.
